Workshop for the New European Master’s Program in Digital Transformation by the University of the Aegean and Université Paris 8
A new international master’s program focusing on digital transformation, design, and management is currently being developed through the collaboration between the University of the Aegean and Université Paris 8. The initiative aims to combine digital transformation with design, management, digital humanities, and contemporary technologies.
The progress of the initiative was presented and discussed during the DTDM Workshop: Digital Transformation: Design & Management, which took place in Athens at the Office of the University of the Aegean, with the participation of academics, researchers, and collaborators from both institutions.
The new program, titled Master’s in Digital Transformation: Design & Management, is designed as a two-year postgraduate program (120 ECTS), taught in English and based on a combination of online and blended learning activities, including seminars, workshops, project-based learning, and collaborative teaching between the two universities.
During the workshop, discussions focused on key topics such as artificial intelligence, human-centered design, ethical and responsible use of technology, accessibility, sustainability, digital rights, technology governance, and the role of interaction design in everyday digital life.
A central point highlighted throughout the discussions was that digital transformation should not be viewed solely as technological change, but also as a broader social, cultural, organizational, and educational transformation. The new master’s program aims to educate students who will be able to design and manage digital systems and services with creativity, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
The workshop also brought together representatives from local government, cultural organizations, and business networks from Greece and France, fostering connections with institutions and stakeholders in the wider field of digital innovation and culture.
The DTDM Workshop marked an important step toward the development of the new European master’s program and the strengthening of collaboration between the University of the Aegean and Université Paris 8. The initiative highlights the growing need for a contemporary and human-centered approach to education in digital transformation.
